George L. Stansberry, was born January 28, 1942, in Knoxville, Tennessee to George and Donna Stansberry, who are deceased. George had one brother, Don E. Stansberry who is also deceased.
George attended Powell Elementary School and Powell High School. He moved to Chattanooga in 1962 and went to work for Austin Construction Company and TVA.
George met and married Mary Ann in 1977. They have six children, three boys and
three girls. They have 12 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.
George and Mary Ann are members of the Calvary Bible Church where he is a member of
the choir and an inactive deacon.
Brother Stansberry became a member of The Order of DeMolay in 1958. Raised to Master
Mason in 1972 in the Red Bank Lodge. On February 21, 1980, he affiliated to Mountain City Lodge #549 where he served as Master in the years 1986, 2010 and 2013.
Companion Stansberry was exalted into John Nicklin Chapter #49 on April 29, 1998,
serving as High Priest in 2002. He received the Order of High Priesthood in March , 2003.
He was greeted in Mount Mariah Council #95 on May 19, 1998. Serving as Illustrious
Master in 2001 and received The Order of the Silver Trowel.
Companion Stansberry served as the Illustrious Grand Chaplain in the Grand Council
of Cryptic Masons in 2005 and 2010. In 2008 he served as the Right Excellent Grand Chaplain of the Grand Chapter, Royal Arch Masons.
Sir Knight Stansberry was knighted into Lookout Commandery #14 on June 19, 1998, serving as Eminent Commander in 2004. On May 2, 2003 he awarded the Knight Crusader of the Cross.
He joined the Scottish Rite in 1983. George received his KCCH in 2003. Received
the Venerable Master Award in 2005 and received the 33 degree in 2009.
Sir Knight Stansberry was inducted into Tennessee Priory No. 15 of the Knight of the
York Cross of Honor (KYCH) in 2005.
Brother Stansberry is a member of the York Rite Sovereign College of North America,
the Grand Council of Knight Masons of the United States of America, The Grand Council, Allied Masonic Degrees and served and installed as Sovereign Master.
Brother Stansberry is a member of the United Imperial Council of Knights of the Red Cross of Constantine. Frater Stansberry is a member of Rosicrucian Society in the United States, Order of Knight Commanders Asylum #2, Masonic Order of the Four Black Llama. Knight of Saint Andrews, Royal Order of the Red Branch ERI. Past Patron of Lookout Valley #483 Order of the Eastern Star of Tennessee. Grand Masters personal Representative District #9.
Brother Stansberry was elected Grand Captain of the Guard of the, Grand Council, Cryptic
Masons, of Tennessee in 2011. Advancing each year and elected as Most Illustrious Grand Master in 2014.
Brother Stansberry was elected Pre-Eminent Grand Governor of the York Rite College in 2014
